I guess the term "affordable" is the real word here. There are several companies like Scaled Composites, Bigelow and XCOR that will be sending up space tourists as early as 2009 or 2010 with a price tag between $100,000 and $200,000.
After that, public demand, technological breakthroughs and competition will drive the price down considerably. Give it another 10 years and the price will be one-tenth of what the initial costs are.

you want an opinion? or a guesstimate?...my guess is itll be a good amount of money....i wouldnt pay to leave this planet....but if i caught a ride to another one for free, id love to take a trip.
