Guys I need help with current electricity...I have no idea how to do the questions and I need a physics pro to help me go through 22 questions with me due tomorrow!!

e.g) a bird lands on a power line carrying 1200 A. the resistance of the cable is 1.0 x 10^-5 ohm/m. If the bird's feet are 3 cm apart, what potential difference exists across its body?

If the specific resistance of the cable is 1.0 x 10^-5 ohm/m, then the resistance of 3 cm is

R = 1.0 x 10^-5 ohm/m * 0.03 m = 1.0 x 10^-7 ohm.

A potential drop U over a resistor R is then:

U = I * R = 1200 A * 1.0 x 10^-7 ohm = 1.2 x 10^-4 V.

Since R*=1.0*10^5 ohm/m it follows that in the distance of 3 cm = 0.03 m the resistance is R=1.0*10^5 ohm/m * 0.03 m = 3 * 10 ^3 ohm

So V=1200 A * 3 * 10 ^3 ohm = 3.6 * 10 ^6 Volt
