Basically, how much air is there in the world? Is there like an "air bank" where we can get more if we run short?

There is so much air that if we wrapped it around the entire globe, it would settle as a cloud about 100 miles thick. If you strung the molecules end-to-end it would probably wrap around the Earth several trillion times.
Sadly, this is all of the air there is, until our technology improves to the point where we can bring in an icy comet/asteroid to low orbit and separate out the oxygen and nitrogen. So if we render it unusable due to pollution, we are toast.
