mulching adds cover, so less bare ground = less erosion
crop rotation....changing the crops in a type of cycle.......prevents diseases, pests, nutrient depletion, etc.
terraces are essentially.....floodplane 1 floodplane 2 etc...
conservation tillage is any method of tilling that is done with erosion, nutrient, or other land management practices in mind.
think of it like going against the grain........creates buffer strips so there's no direct path for momentum of runoff water to build.
@conor..it is not rotation...it is called fallow period...you let your farm to recover from the previous planting...
rotation means you have to plant vertical species from the previous plant, if you planted you field with rice plant it with legumes the next cropping. That is rotation.

crop rotation is when 1 field is left alone and the rest have different crops in so the field which is left get chance to fertilise and get back its nutrients and then each year they move the crops around leaving another field open and so on
