tarantula vs giant hornet

well i answered wolverine vs badger why not try to tackle this one too :) here we go, the Match up. we will use the cobalt blue tarantuala for our match up since it is one of the most aggressive.

In this corner we have the Giant Asian Hornet.

Size- 2 in (50mm) wing span 3 in (76mm)

Weapons- 1/2in (6mm) stinger that injects tissue disolving toxins as well as a nurotoxin

Extremely strong mandibles which is its first line of attack against prey

Armor- relatively speaking (thick) plate armor of chitin, tough to penetrate.

Extra skills- it can fly

Temperment- highly aggressive, known to attack and in sufficeint numbers kill humans when even slightly provoked

And in this corner

Cobalt blue Tarantula

Size- 5 inches (176mm)

weapons- 2 fangs each up to half inch long with venom strong enough to make a full grown adult extremely ill.

armors-none

extra skills- lightning fast, diggs burrows, highly sensitive to insect pheramones, can feel even the slightest of vibrations.

Temperment- highly aggressive, cannot be handled.

Ok it looks like a good fight here folks...or do we?

AND THE WINNER IS.................Tarantula disappointingly easily kill Giant Asian Hornet.

The fight breaks down like this in one of two ways.

One tarantula sets inside borrow, denying wasp its surprise attack from the air, hornet steps on spider silk, tarantule darts out, bite wasp fight is over.

Two you pull tarantula out of its borrow and place in a container with the hornet. Hornets agitation causes it to release pharemones making tarantula aware of its presence and vibrations from its wings let tarantula know exactly where its at. hornet comes down to attack, tarantula jumps catching hornet mid air, again hornet becomes a tasty snack.

Interesting note, there is a much much smaller wasp that makes tarantula living body its nursery, its developed specific defenses, one of them being its so small, to actually land on their backs and lays its eggs inside the lving tarantula. funny to see how the little guy kills the spider without even a second though but the much bigger and aggressive, but much less adpated to the task, hornet gets it's but kicked.
