It's well documented that Apes have hands which are less flexible then Humans. A Chimp cannot touch it's little finger with it's thumb.
The Opposing Thumb Humans have, is much more versatile than Chimps too.
Actually pulling a trigger could be managed. Pointing would not be within their grasp of understanding. Nor would they be able to connect the noise with the end result.
