Total Displacement = d(3) − d(0)
Total Displacement = - 6(3^4) + 7(3^2) − 3 − [ - 6(0^4) + 7(0^2) − 3 ]
Total Displacement = - 486 + 63 − 3 − [ − 3 ]
Total Displacement = - 423 ... meters ??
Total Time = 3 − 0 = 3 ... seconds ??
Velocity = Displacement ⁄ Time
Average Velocity = - 423 ⁄ 3 = -141 ... m/sec ??
Average velocity is the total distance divided by time. Net displacement is d(0)-d(3)
d(3)=-426 d(0)=-3 So total displacement is -3- -426 = 423. Total time is 3 seconds, so 423=3 = 141 d's/second. You didn't list your units so I'm assuming seconds, and d would be your units of distance.
