Both have equal germ access, because in addition to handling the phone, a person's mouth is next to it when he or she speaks. In either case, don't worry too much. Get the kind of phone you like and just wipe it down with a soft cloth, like a microfiber cloth, now and then.
Reference: In my family, we have used both types of phones. We just wipe them off periodically as needed.
